Auchinleck Talbot’s journey to SPFL can begin as SFA membership granted

Auchinleck Talbot have bagged an SFA license and can now climb the Scottish football pyramid.

The East Ayrshire side will compete in the Scottish Cup every year, a competition they are no strangers to.

Talbot defeated Ayrshire rivals Ayr United 1-0 in 2019, and they’ve had two memorable trips to Tynecastle to battle with Hearts over the years.

A club statement said: “A lot of work over several years has paid off as the club were informed that our SFA membership was fully approved.

“This now makes us eligible for promotion and also for entry to the Scottish Cup.

“It is due to start from July 20 and the benefits of being a fully licensed senior club will be felt around the club for many years to come!

“Massive thank you to all for your continued support.”

Talbot join Irvine Meadow in gaining their SFA membership.
