Learn to Orienteer

If you’ve ever thought that you couldn’t read a map, join us for a fun day of orienteering in the great outdoors and discover that you can!

Discover the thrill of orienteering

Join our one day beginner workshop led by our experienced coaches and gain the skills and confidence to navigate with a map.

This fun day teaches you the basics of orienteering including:

  • Understanding an orienteering map
  • Using a compass
  • Techniques to navigate a course on a map

By the end of this day you will have the skills and confidence to take part in an orienteering event. Within Aberdeen, you can choose to join in with Grampian Orienteers, or if you are in the direction of Deeside then Mar Orienteering Club is an equally great choice to get involved with! No prior knowledge or experience required – just a sense of adventure. All physical activity at whatever level you choose.
