Nicola Sturgeon announces no Scots covid deaths but 951 cases recorded overnight

Scotland has recorded no coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours – but the First Minister warned that registration offices are closed on Sundays.

There were 951 new covid cases recorded overnight.

Of the new registered cases, 385 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, 268 were in Lanarkshire, 78 in Ayrshire and Arran and 69 in Lothian.

The rest were spread across the other health board areas.

There were 1,225 people in hospital, an increase of 32, and 93 people in intensive care, an increase of 12.

The death toll in Scotland currently stands at 2,849.
