A North-east inn has landed a top accolade at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The Kildrummy Inn picked up fine dining hotel of the year at the Scottish Hotel Awards in Edinburgh last night.

A host of other North-east stopovers were recognised.

The Holiday Inn Aberdeen West was named brand hotel of the year, the Crowne Plaza Aberdeen secured airport hotel of the year and Village the Hotel Club, also in Aberdeen, won the club hotel of the year category.

Nigel Hake, who co-owns the Kildrummy Inn alongside chef and brother-in-law David Littlewood, said: “We’re absolutely flattered. It’s a particularly nice one to have managed to be fine dining for the whole of Scotland.
“It reflects nicely on both sides of the business – the dining experience and the quality of the food.

“I also personally received a people of excellence award for restaurant manager for the North-east of Scotland and the inn won inn of the year for the North-east as well – it was quite a nice little haul.”
