Talking about receiving the Covid vaccine, Ruth opened up about the process and discussed her experience.
Ruth and her husband Eamonn Holmes appeared on This Morning today for the first time since their axe from their Friday slot and were discussing the vaccine roll-out.
The 61-year-old said she was initially shocked after getting the text inviting her to get the jab and she even thought it might be fake.
But after realising it wasn’t a hoax, the presenter received the vaccine.
The next day, Ruth said it had been pretty plain sailing and she had no side effects, saying: “I’m good, all I’ve had is a slightly achey arm.
“But I do feel very grateful and very blessed.”
And viewers of the show couldn’t believe that the host had turned 61 and took to Twitter to express their disbelief.
One tweeted: “No way is @RuthieeL 61! Did I hear that correctly? #thismorning.”
While another commented: “I can’t believe Ruth is 61!! She looks great #ThisMorning.”
A third wrote: “Wait… Ruth is 61 ?! Thought 50, fair play #ThisMorning.”
“Ruth is 61? Did I miss the over the top 60th birthday celebrations that #thismorning held for her over a whole programme last year with presents being unwrapped etc?” another joked with reference to Holly’s 40th birthday celebrations last week.
